What's In Your Deodorant?
Posted by Taylor Douglas
Looking to make the switch from traditional deodorants to an all-natural option? Traditional deodorants can be packed with controversial chemicals that are absorbed through your skin and could cause unknown effects. With an all-natural deodorant, you can feel at ease knowing exactly what you’re putting on your skin and the impact it has on your body. At PurO3 we designed just that: a simple, safe, and pure plant-based odor neutralizer﹣PurO3’s Ozonated Jojoba Oil Deodorant.
PurO3 vs. Traditional Deodorants
The main difference between our Ozonated Jojoba Oil Deodorant and the traditional kind is where the ingredients come from. Some traditional ingredients are chemically processed whereas every ingredient in our deodorant is plant-based. That means no aluminum, no parabens, and no phthalates.
How do these plant-based ingredients work as a deodorant? When sweat is secreted, it is initially odorless until it comes in contact with bacteria. Our ingredients help to neutralize the bacteria so that this process can’t transpire thanks to their naturally occurring antibacterial properties.
Role | Compound in Traditional Deodorant | Ingredient in Ozonated Oil Dedorant |
Antimicrobial agents | Triclosan, propylene glycol, quaternary ammonium compounds, octoxyglycerin, 2-ethylehexylglycerin, and ethyllauryl arginate hydroxychloride | Ozonated Organic Jojoba Oil, Ozonated Organic Coconut Oil, Witch Hazel Extract, Caprylyl Glycol, Organic Quillaia Extract, Organic Rosemary Extract, Organic Orange Essential Oil, Organic Bergamot Essential Oil |
Odor masking agents | Limonene, linalool, eugenol, geraniol, hexylcinnamaldehyde, or simply labelled “fragrance” | Organic Rosemary Extract (subtle), Organic Orange Essential Oil, Organic Bergamot Essential Oil |
Odor absorbers | Sodium acid carbonate, zinc carbonate, and talc | Ozonated Organic Jojoba Oil (indirectly), Ozonated Organic Coconut Oil (indirectly) |
Benefits of Ozonated Oil Deodorants
Not only is our deodorant formulated with natural antibacterial ingredients, but it also has an extra boost thanks to ozone. When ozone is infused into plant-based oils, it has been known to boost the oil’s beneficial properties thanks to the antibacterial and antifungal properties ozone already possesses.
It is also beneficial for skin healing, moisturizing, and inflammation reduction, making it suitable for sensitive skin.
