Understanding the scent of ozonated oils
When first using ozonated oils, the smell might catch you off guard. You may be reminded of the fresh smell that can be created after the discharge of lightning produces ozone during a storm. The sense of smell is one of the strongest senses we have and is very subjective. For this reason, some people find the smell pleasant, while for others it might be very strong.
Ozonated olive and hemp oils tend to have the strongest smell for new customers. The distinct medicinal smell is completely normal. The chemical reactions that take place during ozone infusion give the finished product its unique odor.
Some people who are sensitive to it at first quickly become accustomed and it no longer bothers them. We have found that using the product for five to seven days is a good test. Several customers who initially disliked the smell have mentioned they came to love it after the first week, or aren’t bothered by it enough to give up the benefits.
If you have a strong sense of smell or are sensitive to smells in general, we recommend trying a sample before buying a full size jar. Jojoba has the lightest, freshest smell and would be a great choice for someone who wants a better smelling product, especially when applying it to the face. It is also perfectly acceptable to blend ozonated oils with essential oils you typically enjoy.
